Our sustainability month in Hong Kong

Gammon, our 50:50 joint venture in Hong Kong, is a leader in sustainability and low-carbon construction. They have a particular focus on embracing digital platforms, new materials and robotics to disrupt traditional practices in order to improve safety, productivity, quality and make more efficient use of natural resources.
Gammon reduced its absolute carbon emissions by over 20% between 2016-2020 and was the first company in Hong Kong to have its greenhouse gases verified under ISO 14064-1:2018.
Every two years Gammon holds a sustainability month, an awareness and engagement campaign with activities and actions for projects and permanent facilities which includes company-wide, events held throughout the month.
Their October 2021 sustainability month, was a special edition to highlight the importance of COP26. It included the publication of thought leadership on zero carbon and green construction, and collection of our commuter survey and supporting data which we used to pull together scope 3 emissions insights. This coincided with the release of the Hong Kong Government's much-anticipated Hong Kong 2050 carbon neutrality plan in Q3 of 2021.
