Integrating teams

BIM can be used at every part of the project lifecycle, bringing together specialists to create the best outcomes.
BIM at design and tender stage
As a platform for collaboration, BIM enables architectural, structural, civil, mechanical and electrical design teams to work together to create a fully integrated design that is free from clashes that could slow the construction process. Through having one integrated design model, it helps to build one team as every aspect of a building, road or tunnels construction is fully considered alongside other interfaces.
BIM in project delivery
When translating the design into construction, BIM plays an important role in the programming of works. It helps our construction teams to optimise the programme of work to ensure individual packages are phased in the safest and most efficient manner. The integration of all specialisms into one BIM model has reduced work programmes by up to 10 weeks.
BIM in operation and maintenance
As a project nears completion and the facilities manager become increasingly involved, the BIM model is already in place with the data they require. This enables the production of an efficient maintenance schedule and smooth hand over to the end user. As time progresses, the facilities manager will continue to use this accurate data set to help with smoother component maintenance and more predictable and efficient operational performance throughout its lifecycle.
